The Fitur travel fair, then, is where all the Spanish speaking tour operators and agencies meet up and create the conditions that prop up the travel sector in those segments that deal with inbound and outbound markets in Latin America. As such, it is the place to be if you want to buy or sell holidays in those markets.
Madrid is an obvious choice to host this fair, as it’s the beating heart of the Spanish speaking world-its de facto capital if you will. That Madrid is one of the most picturesque and dazzling cities in the world is but a bonus. La Movida Madrileña is one of many reasons to visit, as are the world class museums, galleries, and robust nightlife. Naturally, the food culture with its famous tapas is also enticing-who wouldn’t want to find oneself inside a traditional tapas bar, sipping beer and methodically going through plater after plater of the delicious entrants?
